In addition to eating a vegetarian diet, one of the best things you can do for your planet and your community is to buy local produce at farmers markets, community supported farms, and other local sellers.

Farmers Markets
Veg Seattle maintains an updated list of farmers markets in the puget sound area, including information on dates and times they are open. This information is adapted from the Puget Sound Farm-DMA's Farm Fresh Guide, which is available online at the link provided below in "more resources." To see Veg Seattle's list of farmers markets, go here.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs)
In addition to farmers markets, Veg Seattle also maintains an updated list of independent farms and CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture). These services typically offer a bin or box of organic, locally-grown produce delivered to your door on a weekly or biweekly basis. To see Veg Seattle's list of farms and CSAs, go here.
