Welcome to VegSeattle.com, the Pacific Northwest's most comprehensive resource for those interested in reducing the meat and/or dairy products that they consume and use, for whatever reason and at whatever pace.

In May of 2003, VegSeattle introduced the first ever sustained television advertising campaign promoting vegetarianism and veganism. With real people from all walks of life, the ads are entertaining and informative with ordinary and not-so-ordinary people discussing their real-life veg* stories and the positive changes they've experienced in their lives since making the switch.

The reaction to and impact of the ads has been unprecedented. VegSeattle committs itself to ensuring the ads are distributed as widely as possible with an offer to provide copies of the ads to veg* groups interested in running them on their own local stations, which we are proud to say many groups have done.

For the future, VegSeattle sets its sights on the next generation of TV spots. We hope to garner the support of "bigger" names and have them seen by a much wider audience. For more information on this project or how to obtain copies of the original ads for airing in your area, please email us at info@vegseattle.com.

Seeing Through the Fence" Screening & Fundraiser for Animals

Tickets: $10 -- Tickets can be purchased at Sidecar before 6pm on Sunday or when the door opens at 7pm on Sunday

"Seeing Through the Fence" is a documentary put together by NARN's very own Eleni Vlachos! Eleni may have moved away to Durham 2 years ago, but NARN still claims her as one of our own. This documentary is a culmination of years of work, interviews with hundreds of people and lots of thoughtful editing. Now we finally get the opportunity to see it! Eleni has generously offered to set up the Seattle screening as a fundraiser for local Animal Advocacy Organizations, so not only do you get to see a great documentary (perhaps the best one made about vegetarianism), but you get to help the animals! Don't miss it and bring your family and friends. We will have snacks available for purchase. Pizza Pi will be selling slices just for the screening! We do need volunteers to help before, during and after the screening, so if you can help, please contact Rachel (rachelb@narn.org) For more information about the documentary, or to see the trailer check out: http://www.porchlifeproductions.com

****WE NEED VOLUNTEERS - we need folks to distribute fliers, and to help with set up & clean up. If you can help, PLEASE contact board@narn.org ****
