Since
opening in 1991, Cafe Flora has extablished itself as one of Seattle's
most favorite vegetarian restaurants by offering richly diverse
and elegant vegetarian/vegan cuisine. Located in serene Madison
Park neighborhood, this gorgeous restaurant stands beautifully surrounded
by lush plants and flowers during much of the year.
One look at
the menu, and you can see that the creative team of Cafe Flora,
lead by Chef Janine Doran make sure that there is something for
everyone. Although largely eclectic and international, the main
focus of the menu is fresh Northwest ingredients. At dinner, popular
appetizers include lentil-pecan Pate Platter accompanied by rustic
bread and mouth-watering Artichoke Croquettes with chili lime sauce.
For a light eater, there are delightful salads like Smoked Mushroom
and Spinach Salad to start with.
Anyone with
hearty appetite should go for vegan pizzas made with wonderfully
yummy "Tofu-Riccotta Cheese" seasoned with fresh herbs and olive
oil and come with such toppings as spinach and basil or roasted
vegetables. Entrees are as beautiful as they are delicious. Coconut
Ginger Rice Cakes come adorned with marinated wild mushrooms and
butternut squash-passion fruit sauce. Another popular choice is
classic Portabella Wellington with mashed potatoes, and specials
change weekly. At the end of a meal, a proud waitperson will tempt
you with homemade deserts displayed on a large tray. There are sizable
beer & wine selections and a creative array of non-alcoholic beverages.
Along
with lunch and dinner, Cafe Flora also hosts one of the best Saturday
and Sunday brunches in town. Among other items, generous Vegan Family
Platter satisfies anyone with heaping scrambled tofu, soy sausage,
coffeecake, fruit and roasted potatos. Catering, Valentine's Day,
Mother's Day Brunch, Thanksgiving pre-fix dinner events are also
popular. A
